On Dec 11th 2018, The 8th Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Achievement Awards and 2018 Asia International Innovation Awards were presented at the Asia World Expo. The Secretary for Innovation and Technology of Hong Kong Special Administrative (SAR), Dr Yeoh Wai-Hung, and Vice Secretary for Trade and Economic Affairs of the Central People Government in SAR, Mr. Liu Ya Jun attended the Awards Ceremony as an official special guest. Congratulation to our customer’s water cooling system with Towin’s UV Sterilizer won the Asia International Innovation Gold Award.
The Hong Kong Government has a very high demand for effluent water quality in cooling towers, especially for requirement of Legionella. Because of the Legionella event in Hong Kong, it is very difficult to apply water supply in new water cooling towers for a long time, which lead to the use of a high energy consumption air-cooling system for cooling towers. To replace the air-cooling system in cooling towers, our sterilizing water coolers have been tested for more than one year at a large food factory in Hong Kong to get a good result of regular sampling. With all the good results, the Hong Kong China Power Company (HKCPC) has finally approved the water cooling systems in the cooling towers. With its superior energy saving in the daily usage, water cooling system can have parts of government funding from HKCPC. The maximum amount of government funding subsidy is 300,000 HK dollar per system sold in Kong Kong market. The water cooling system was powered by Towin’s  UV sterilizing system.
