Does the heavy smell from the pool disinfectant indicate cleanliness and sanitation?
When it comes to disinfecting water, it is natural to think of the chlorination disinfection commonly used in swimming pools. Indeed, chlorine is the smell! "Swimming pool water quality standard CJ/T 244-2016": free residual chlorine limit requirement is 0.3-1.0mg/L. Theoretically, the residual chlorine concentration is already very low, so low that we cannot smell it. Therefore, a heavy smell from the pool disinfectant is not necessarily indicative of cleanliness and sanitation!

Chlorine reacts with ammonia, nitrogen and organic compounds in water to form a disinfectant by-product—most of which is chloramine. Chloramine is extremely volatile and easily floats into the air from the water, so the pool is often flooded with the “pool disinfectant smell.”

How to resolve the harm of disinfectant by-products?

Technical University of Denmark and the University of Heidelberg in Germany have confirmed through experiment that medium-pressure UV technology is very effective in the decomposition of chloramines, and it can effectively promote the decomposition of chloramine by photooxidation.

The absorption rate of different chlorine in different valence states: the optimal decomposition wavelength of monochloramine in the UVC segment, the optimal decomposition wavelength of dichloramine in the UVB segment, and the optimal decomposition wavelength of trichloramine in the UVA segment.
 

The low-pressure ultraviolet lamp has a single wavelength and only covers the UVC band. The decomposition effect of chloramine is not good; there is a phenomenon of photoreactivation, some bacteria are revived under visible light irradiation, and sterilization is not complete.

The medium-pressure UV lamp covers UVA, UVB, UVC, and has the ability to decompose chlorine, prevent light resurrection, and disinfect completely. 

1.Truly achieving thorough disinfection
Low-pressure ultraviolet rays prevent the regeneration of germs by destroying its DNA, but some bacteria will resurrect under the radiation of visible light, which is called "light resurrection,” and is particularly damaging outdoors, resulting in incomplete sterilization. The medium-pressure ultraviolet broad-spectrum wave can eliminate light resurrection and truly achieve thorough disinfection.

2. Scientific design assures disinfection dose
